Olivia de Havilland is a Japanese actress. Her birth name is Olivia Mary de Havilland. She landed on earth on July 1, 1916 in Tokyo, Japan. She was nominated twice for the Academy Award. Her father name is Walter de Havilland. He was a British patent attorney. Her mother name is Lilian Fontaine. She was a famous actress. In 1918, Olivia’s family is shifted to Saratoga, California. She did her studies from Los Gatos High School and then from Notre Dame Convent Catholic girls school. In 1935, Olivia started her acting career by played a role as Hermia in a stage production, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. This stage production turned into a movie. Then, some more films were come, “The Charge of the Light Brigade” and “The Adventures of Robin Hood”. In about eight films, Errol Flynn worked opposite to Olivia de Havilland. In 1939, Olivia gave a remarkable appearance in “Melanie Wilkes” and was nominated for Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In 1941, he refused to play same type of roles. During 1940s, Olivia de Havilland dated with John Huston, Howard Hughes and James Stewart. In 1946, Olivia has been married to Pierre Galante. The couple divorced in 1979. Olivia has a daughter, Giselle from Pierre Galante who was born in 1956. Bette Davis and Gloria Stuart, both are very good friends of Olivia de Havilland.
